The EEEI participated last September 20 in the 2° Metric Event of the professional association GUFPI-ISMA chapter of the Italian IFPUG (International Function Point User Group – www.ifpug.org).

The GUFPI-ISMA (Function Point User Group – Italian Software Metrics Association) promotes the development and the professional certification of the Function Point methodology used by consultants and companies for software measurement and evaluation. The GUFPI Association considered the presentation of EEEI particularly interesting especially for the “Find an expert” project. The GUFPI-ISMA is deeply involved in the systematic evaluation of professional activities, both working along the typical IT processes (Project Managers, Analysts, Programmers, …) and as figures of experts in the evaluation of software and information systems.

Furthermore, GUFPI-ISMA has always been open to international collaborations and to other sectors such as, in this case, the judicial one.

Just in the judicial area, some case studies related to the use of Function Point methodologies for the judicial expertise of information systems were presented.

This event constitutes a first step towards the consolidation of a relationship between the methodological aspects (even if limited to the IT sector) and the judicial context.

Architect Angela Scala introduced the EEEI, underlining the goal, the social mission and the reason for its foundation in 2006:

… in developed societies., in a world dominated by new technologies, whose complete effects do not we have still discovered, the Experts are appointed by the Judges that ask for an even more skilled assistance in their judicial proceedings.

Crucial will be the analysis of the role of the expertise of Experts in the contemporary society”.

Then, President Alain Nuee presented the Institute, and Jean-Raymond Lemaire focused on the Project “Find an Expert”.

The GUFPI-ISMA thanks the Institute, Mrs Angela Scala, Mr Alain Nuee and Mr Jean-Raymond Lemaire and hopes for a future of productive collaboration.
