The Team: IT Center of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh)

In the dynamic realm of technological innovation, our team at the IT Center of AUTh proudly leads the technical development of the transformative FindexII project. Comprising individuals with diverse skills, our team boasts extensive experience in European projects, notably contributing to the success of the FABII project. Within our ranks, professionals assume various roles in Project Management, Software Engineering, Front-end and Back-end Development, UI/UX Designing, and DevOps.

Interest in the FindexII Project

Our team’s commitment to the FindexII project is driven by the project’s compelling scope. The overarching goal of establishing a unified system to streamline processes related to judicial experts and similar fields poses a challenging yet essential endeavour that our team is eager to address.

Innovative Development Approach

Crafting a search engine can be straightforward when dealing with static data, but the FindexII project demands a more sophisticated approach.

As we aspire to create a tool with European reach, simplicity, and functionality are of great importance. The Demo IT Tool’s primary qualification lies in its user-friendliness, essential for guiding individuals without IT expertise in efficiently navigating their professional data.

The development of such a tool is a process that needs to be maintained and evolved during the following phases, in order to incorporate and facilitate all European countries.

Our development journey prioritises the use of cutting-edge technologies. Leveraging Java Spring Boot for the backend (search engine) ensures stability and flexibility, while React Framework for the frontend (web portal) guarantees high performance and ease of maintenance. This strategic choice positions us to adapt and scale seamlessly as we evolve to meet the needs of all European countries.

Overcoming Challenges: Unifying Member States

The FindexII project encounters a significant challenge—establishing a harmonious connection with all Member States. To overcome this, compromises are necessary. Our approach involves defining a standardised set of fields for expert descriptions agreed upon by all Member States. Additionally, we propose the creation of a web service for each country with a uniform structure, facilitating integration with various registries.

Advancing Toward Completion: Current Progress

As we near the finish line, the Demo IT Tool is in the final stages of development. Our immediate focus includes refining the tool’s UI to seamlessly align with the E-Justice portal and the creation of comprehensive technical and user documentation.

At the IT Center of AUTh, we are not just developing a tool. Along with European Expertise and Expert Institute EEEI which is the Project Leader and EuroExpert, we are paving the way for a future where judicial processes are streamlined, efficient, and accessible across borders. The FindexII project is not merely a task for us; it is a commitment to excellence and innovation in the service of a greater purpose. Stay tuned for more updates on our transformative journey!
