Jean-Raymond Lemaire’s participation

Jean-Raymond Lemaire attended the congress of the Union Internationales des huissiers de justice – UIHJ (Scientific program). 570 participants from 102 member organizations in 50 countries took part in this meeting in the mythical city of Rio.
In his speech, Patrick Gielen, the UIHJ’s general spokesman, emphasized the major values to be upheld, such as expertise and ethics (conduct), security, justice, and trust.
The profession’s concerns and main areas of work were also addressed:

• Professional standards
• Ethics
• Responsibility
• Credibility and reputation
• Legal and regulatory requirements

This participation gave rise to close, friendly exchanges that could help explore avenues of cooperation between our professions.

Under the guidance of the International Union of Judicial Officers, Patrick Gielen, judicial officer, and general rapporteur of the XXVth Congress of the UIHJ, coordinated this volume with the collaboration of over seventy experts. This detailed and thorough examination aims to illuminate the often-misunderstood role of the judicial officer, underscoring their critical importance as a trusted third party in our legal system.
