The steering committee of the VR-DigiJust project held its annual meeting on October 13, 2023, at the invitation of the Greek consortium partner, the European Public Law Organization.

The EEEI was represented there by its co-president Benoît de Clerck.

The committee was able to take stock of the progress of the project after its first year of activity, and record the progress made. These were numerous and significant, with in particular the holding of four conferences of practitioners in spring 2023 in Florence, Athens, Paris and Bremen, which made it possible to collect the experience of stakeholders in the field: magistrates, prosecutors, police officers, judges, notaries, bailiffs, judicial experts, etc. From these conferences, several structuring themes were drawn for future training needs, which will be broken down into practical scenarios in the remainder of the project.

The principles for constituting the future network of virtual training centers have been laid down, with the ambition of offering future users training methods ranging from classic face-to-face situations to very advanced formulas using virtual reality.

The next two years should allow:

  • on the one hand, to put in place the IT tools which will constitute the technical backbone of the network,
  • and on the other hand, to establish teams of “trainers of trainers” with a view to carrying out the first training sessions in during the year 2025.
