The consensus conference

Find an Expert II – Consensus Conference: Registrations are now open!

On 2 June 2023, the Find an Expert II consensus conference will be held at the Higher Regional Court in Cologne. The focus of the day will be the public debate in the form of a question and answer session. There will be an exchange of views between all participants, the president, and the members of the jury. The groups of work packages 2, 3 and 4 will present their work.

As a reminder, the tasks assigned to the work packages are as follows:

Work package 2

It focuses on the convergence of national registers of experts. It consists of 3 working groups:

  • WP2 – WG1 – Definition of criteria for judicial experts, led by Verena Wirwohl,
  • WP2 – WG2 – Definition of criteria for expert listing bodies, led by Rafa Orellana de Castro,
  • WP2 – WG3 – Requirements for experts to be registered on the lists, led by Benoit de Clerck and Sascha Dalen Gilhuijs.

Work package 3

It is concerned with the convergence of Member States’ nomenclature of expert specialities. This will define a process for the existence and maintenance of a common nomenclature in the fields of expertise in the European Union. It is led by Jan Wannenmacher and Bertrand Ludes.

Work package 4

It is responsible for creating a demonstration IT tool for six pilot Member States (Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Italy, Poland, Romania). The aim is to interconnect the national lists and to set up a European search engine for legal experts. Further reflection is underway to ensure the sustainability of the tool and the project.
